Tenure-track, Assistant Professor, Social Justice and Community Studies

The Department of Social Justice and Community Studies (SJCS) at Saint Mary’s University, on the unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people, invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. We seek a critically engaged scholar in the area of Indigenous Studies and/or Black Diaspora Studies with a demonstrated research commitment to knowledges and methodologies grounded in Indigenous worldviews and/or actively engaged with critiques of anti-Blackness. Requirements The successful applicant will have background with anti-colonial/decolonizing community- or grassroots-based social change movements and will be able to teach undergraduate courses in community studies. They will either hold a PhD, or be ABD and complete their PhD by the position start date of July 1, 2019.
